It looks like the Suicide Squad spinoff Peacemaker starring John Cena will start filming this December. James Gunn is scheduled to have a pretty busy 2021 so it seems he is trying to get a head start. First he is finishing up the Suicide Squad sequel that is set to release in 2021. A trailer has yet to be released for the film but the behind-the-scenes clip that was shared at DC Fandome was met with enthusiasm from fans.
The second project is the Peacemaker series for HBO Max which came as a surprise to most fans. With no trailer or peek at the film executives loved what they say during filming and green-lit the series with the former WWE Superstar John Cena for HBO Max.
You can check out the tweet that Gunn revealed that the Peacemaker TV show would begin filming very soon:

Must be nice to James Gunn right now receiving a custom Xbox and a two week quarantine. Let’s forget the fact that his Xbox has custom engraving on it with his name but he is getting ready for a busy couple of weeks. Even during his quarantine he has been very active on Twitter answering fans questions.
The third project Gunn is referencing is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which he has been very active recently answering questions about that project. The big highlight going into the next Suicide Squad film is that recently Gunn revealed that he had full control on who to kill. Basically no one is safe going into the movie. Since we don’t know if the Peacemaker series will be take place before or after the current film, we can’t rule out a Peacemaker death in the upcoming movie.
