Guardians 3 Script Hasn’t Changed Much Since James Gunn Came Back On Board

According to James Gunn the Guardians 3 script hasn’t changed much from his original script. I’m sure you are aware that Gunn was temporarily fired from Marvel Studios by the Disney top brass. However, after a short period of time, and a new job working for DC, Gunn was rehired. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is till coming, just a few years later than first anticipated. So Gunn, (ever active on social media), was asked by fans how much it’s changed. After all, it would be natural for the director to have new ideas as time went on. However, according to Gunn, very little has actually changed in that time. Check out the comments fr0m Gunn’s own Twitter feed below.

It does sound like Gunn has still been making tweaks and will do so right up until filming. Gunn is also the kind of writer/director to make changes on the fly during shooting. So not only will the finished product be different to what we would have gotten prior, it may be quite different from where it is currently on paper.

As for where Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will go, there are a some rumors. Back in the day it seemed likely that Rocket and his background would be a major focus of this trilogy capper. There were even rumors that the antagonist of the movie would be Rocket’s creator the High Evolutionary. The High Evolutionary is a character that had plenty of pages devoted to them in the comic runs of the past. Beyond that perhaps we can assume that the search for (F)Gamora will be an element of the plot?

In terms of when we might see Guardians 3? Your guess is as good as mine, but I would say we are looking at 2023 at the earliest, currently. Especially seen as Gunn is now off to make his Peacemaker TV show for HBO Max. Are you pleased the Guardians 3 script hasn’t changed much? Leave your thoughts below as always.
