According to the latest Barside Buzz Pedro Pascal drops the movie Weapons for the role of Reed in Fantastic Four, plus the Marvel movie won’t film till late this year. That’s the latest from regular insider Jeff Sneider who reported this rumor on his own The Insneider outlet.

Sneider says when he first reported on Pascal as Reed Richards he thought the movie was going to film this April. We kinda all were under the impression, but only from rumors that March or April was the plan. This would have allowed Pascal to shoot Fantastic Four and then still make Zach Cregger’s Weapons. However with Pascal due to report for Season 2 of The Last of Us this February, he has a very tight schedule. Now Sneider has heard that Fantastic Four won’t film until Q3 of this financial year. That’s the tail end of 2024 folks in terms of how the financial year works. Therefore he will pull out of Weapons.

What has caused this delay for Fantastic Four we don’t know and Sneider doesn’t say if he knows. Fans already have theories as always, based on nothing. They think maybe chemistry tests between the lead actors didn’t work and so they are back casting. To be fair not even Pascal has ever been officially announced by Marvel. Therefore, there’s no reason names cannot change. I would hazard a guess that Vanessa Kirby will still be Sue though. That’s the role we heard they cast first after all as the movie’s lead.

There’s absolutely no reason for now to believe that fan theory. Not one single rumor has pointed to any cast changes form the last reports. As far as we know the main four of the cast is still Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. However, until you see those four on stage, or on set, don’t bet the farm on them. This casting process has been a real doozy so far. It would absolutely not surprise me if the movie’s filmed with four completely different actors at this point.

For now though, don’t expect a big casting announcement either way. If the movie isn’t shotting till Fall/Winter then there’s a long way to go. I also think you can forget the May 2025 release window. That is not going to happen if it doesn’t start till late 24′.
