Peter Cameron NOT Heading a new Marvel series! Earlier today we covered a story about unannounced Marvel Disney+ Projects (see related link below). The information was discussed within a report by Murphy’s Multiverse that Peter Cameron was going to be head writer for a new unannounced Marvel show. Since that report, Cameron himself has responded to another outlet’s coverage of the story and denied it. However, he is working for Marvel as a writer. It is just not a head writer and it’s on an already announced project.

So Cameron makes its clear he is not developing a new show for Marvel. He is however currently employed as a writer on another unnamed project. However that project is something we already know about. To be fair, a lot of publicity goes to the head writer of these shows. We rarely hear much about the various other writers who work on them. As for what show Cameron could be working on? Well if it’s a show that’s been announced already, then where do we stand? Here are my best guesses based on how far along shows are. I think we can rule out the ones currently in production, as that would be in the past tense. That leaves me with Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, Ironheart, or Loki Season 2. It’s a good bet Cameron is working within the writers room of one of those projects.

However it’s also possible that Cameron could be, you know, lying out his azz? Marvel creatives lie about projects all the time, and some are better than others at the deception. Given that the source outlet had the best hit record of any Marvel insiders I’m inclined to sit on the fence on this one. Perhaps Murphy had heard about whatever project Cameron is working on, and got slightly mixed up? Hey, this is what happens with early leaks. Or, Cameron could be having some discussions with Marvel he just doesn’t want to get out there yet? Guess we shall wait and see.
However for now, the official line is that Cameron will write on a Marvel project that has been announced already, and that’s it. For now. What do you think of the news that Peter Cameron NOT Heading a new Marvel series? Thoughts below as always.
