Picard Season 2 Teaser Trailer Teases The Return of Q

Q as he appears in Star Trek: Lower Decks

Picard Season 2 has a taser trailer to honor “First Contact Day,” a sort of “May the Fourth Be With You” day for Star Trek fans.

The teaser trailer for Picard Season 2 teased something extra special. Something we didn’t get in the first season of the show that serves as a sequel series to Star Trek: The Next Generation.

That’s right, Q is returning to hassle the old Starfleet Captain.

I don’t mean the Q from the conspiracy theory. Nor do I mean 007’s gadget master. I mean Star Trek‘s Q, who, without getting too much into the universe’s mythology, is a God-like alien. Check out the teaser trailer below!

Q will again be played by John de Lancie who first portrayed the character. Since his creation, the character has appeared in Next GenerationDeep Space Nine, Voyager, and even the animated Lower Decks. And now, of course, Picard Season 2.

Likely related to Q, the other theme of this trailer is time. Not only does Sir Patrick Stewart say the word nearly a dozen times, but we also see time moving backward at certain moments. Will there be time travel elements to Star Trek: Picard Season 2?

We don’t know that for now, but boy, are we about to get some Q up in this starship!
