Possible Plot Details And Title For Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel Revealed [POTENTIAL SPOILERS]

DISCLAIMER: While we can’t say for sure how accurate this stuff is yet, if you wish to go into this film — and even Avengers 4 — cold, stop reading now! Also, if you somehow missed Avengers: Infinity War and still find yourself clicking a link to Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 details, then you also may want to stop reading…

At this point, most of the world knows the controversial fate of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. But with Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 set to hit theaters a couple of months after Marvel’s Avenger’s 4, we are pretty sure he is coming back somehow. Thanks to a reddit user u/AHarbingerOfStuff who claims to have a “reliable source” we have some plot details about the Spider-Man sequel. Please note that these are all rumors and should be treated as such until confirmed by the studio when the time is right.

But just in case a friendly SPOILER WARNING just in case you don’t want to know anything about the plot.

First off the user claims that the movie takes place after Avengers 4 and that although Peter Parker is revived Tony Stark will not survive. The plot will revolve around something that Stark has created that is stolen by the international thief and master of illusions Mysterio for a mystery employer. Something interesting that he notes is that although the fishbowl would be included in the film, he won’t be wearing it.

The film is to be set in London as Parker, his friends, and Aunt May are visiting for a Stark Industries-sponsored conference. Pepper Potts is also supposed to be appearing. But there will be a new student that Peter will be developing a rivalry with named Alistair Smythe. He is said to be a technology prodigy looking to upstage Parker and even turn his friends against him. His father, Spencer Smythe works for Stark Industries.

As far as Spider-Man chasing down Mysterio, it seems like he will not be going after him alone. He will be joined by an MI6 operative named Jessica Drew. She seems to pretty much be a typical field agent with no superpowers but has combat experience and is a tactician. Also in the film will be Vulture and Scorpion. Scorpion, who is also working for the same employer as Mysterio, will be attempting to try and get Spider-Man’s identity from Vulture.

As far as this mysterious employer, it is rumored that he is, in fact, a major villain from the Marvel comic books and will be prominent in future Spider-Man films, though he will only have a minor appearance. His inclusion is supposed to be a twist. Also if it isn’t obvious by now, Sony is looking to build up to the Sinister Six, but it’s not a certain thing that the third film would feature that team.

Last but not least, according to this reddit user, the working title for the film is Spider-Man: Field Trip.

Looking at all the possible plot details that were shared, it would seem like a good movie. Especially giving Parker a rival like Smythe all while having to fight a classic character like Mysterio. It will be interesting to see how they decide to bring back Parker and what will his emotional state will be after not only joining the Avengers but temporarily dying and losing his mentor. Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is scheduled to be released July 5, 2019 in theaters everywhere.
