Here’s a short post-Xmas roundup of all the Marvel rumors and leaks that have dropped since Christmas Eve and after. As you’d guess, most revolve around Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next two Marvel movies due.
At this time of year, there is little of any official news as everyone is on holiday and being entertained by Hollywood. Though, there’s no rest for the insiders and leakers in the holiday season. Let’s begins with some more leaks on Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday Leaks
We had the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday described, then leaked and then released officially. So far that trend seems to be continuing with the next two teaser trailers. Trailer 2 featuring Thor followed the same cycle to the point where I genuinely expect an official release this week. Now, the X-men trailer has followed the same pattern.
No links as you’d guess, but both the Thor and the X-Men trailer can still be found online in potato quality. We can talk about what is in them though. Full descriptions are available, literally at all the big movie sites. However in general there’s not much to see, just like the first Steve Rogers trailer.
The Thor trailer is just him talking to his dead father Odin and looking for the strength to get through the battle to come and back to his daughter Love. The X-Men one is just Professor X and Magneto talking very metaphorically and then holding hands, showing they are united. Then we see Cyclops in very comic accurate costuming blasting from his eyes with fallen Sentinels around him.
If the pattern holds, then the Thor trailer will be out this week and the X-Men one next week. So far there are no descriptions for the fourth or fifth trailers other than that neither are supposed to feature Doctor Doom. However, a recent rumor says the fourth one focuses on the Wakandan’s.
Barside Buzz
We also have some rumors to go over and we’ll stick with Avengers: Doomsday trailers. We have a reliable trailer source claiming that the full trailer, or full teaser trailer (hard to know how they classify them these days) will debut at this years Superbowl.
There's no question whatsoever from what we're hearing at this point that the AVENGERS DOOMSDAY full trailer will debut during the Super Bowl. It will be a MASSIVE event. pic.twitter.com/SxCQXigd8M

Same source also said the reason we have not got that leaked Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer officially yet, is so that it doe snot distract from the currently weekly Doomsday teasers.
Talking about Brand New Day, it seems the Barside Buzz is turning sharply on Sadie Sink’s character. A few less prominent insiders have said they’d heard the name Jean Grey again. If you remember, the very first information we had on Sink was that she was up for the role of Jean Grey. It was mistakenly thought this was for the X-Men reboot film coming after Secret Wars. However, even then, this would be correct if Sink is in fact playing the 616 version of Grey.
Former Jean Grey, Famke Jansen is not in Doomsday or Secret Wars and rumor is she’s dead in that X-Men world. Then, add in trade reports that Sink also appears in Secret Wars and, well, you can start to maybe see picture. Now add this latest one from Daniel RPK on his Patreon.
‘Sadie Sink’s character in ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ will have mind-control powers.’

You can see why so many of them are starting to say it’s Jean Grey Sink is playing after all. I tend to find less reliable scoopers go with trends though, so this remains unconfirmed and no bigger leaker has staked their reputation on it yet that I can see.
Finally we have some word from Daniel on Secret Wars. It’s not really that new of a rumor though, but still.
‘Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will have major roles in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.’
Frankly, I’d have been more surprised had they not.
So, what do you think of the leaks and the rumors for Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day that happened over the Xmas period? Thoughts below as always.
