Potential Slate For Marvel’s Phase 4 Revealed, Or Just A Good Guess?

We are currently awaiting news of the next slate of Marvel movies which Kevin Feige said we would get some time this summer, probably around SDCC or D23. There’s already a lot we know despite not having any movies confirmed yet though. We know Black Widow is filming now and we know The Eternals is highly likely to be the movie made after that. We also know James Gunn is once again directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and that a Shang-Chi movie is in development.

Beyond that know is more guesswork, but according to a user on Reddit who calls themselves MarvelScoopMaster, the slate for the next three years is as follows.

May 1st 2020 – Black Widow

Nov 6th 2020 – The Eternals

Feb 21st 2021 – Shang-Chi

May 7th 2021 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Nov 5th 2021 – Doctor Strange 2

Feb 18th 2022 – Black Panther 2

May 6th 2022 – Spider-Man: Homecoming 3

July 29th 2022 – Captain Marvel 2

Now I think we all knew about Black Widow and The Eternals and I predicted myself that the three movies for 2021 would be Doctor Strange 2, Guardians 3 and Shang-Chi because we know that all three are being actively developed right now. What we couldn’t have told you was what order these 2021 movies would release in, though I’d have taken a guess at Guardians 3 being after Doctor Strange 2, simply because James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is also released in 2021, though he is filming that much earlier.

The 2022 movies though, well, the only one I would have hung my hat on was Black Panther 2 as it’s the only other movie we have heard any news about across the last 12 months. As for Spider-Man 3 and Captain Marvel 2, I guess we expected them at some point, but I really couldn’t add anything to this rumor to substantiate it any further. In fact, at this time we really don’t even know if there will be a third MCU Spider-Man movie, because the initial contract was for two solo movies only.

Captain Marvel 2 is pretty much a gimme and has even been referenced by Feige himself on occasion. So is this some leaked details about Marvel’s slate of Phase 4 movies, or is it just someone with enough knowledge to make an educated guess?

Unfortunately I can’t answer that question for you and I don’t even have evidence of previous scoops from MarvelScoopMaster to point to. All I can say is that I wouldn’t be surprised at all to find out this is the slate and you can pretty much take 2020 and 2021 to the bank, as we know enough to fill in the gaps.
