You’ve got to hand it to the folks behind the upcoming cinematic reboot of the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. They definitely know how to squeeze a lot of juice out of the film’s big reveals. Everything from cast announcements, to costume revelations, to teases of Zords have been handled with tons of pomp and circumstance. Now comes the latest in what is sure to be a line of reveals: The Red Ranger’s Power Sword.

Saban Brands has just released this image of the weapon we’ll get to see in action when Power Rangers comes out next year:

This comes just a few days before New York Comic-Con, where Power Rangers is expected to have a big presence. I’d guess we can expect a different weapon revealed each day, as we get to see what’s in the arsenal of each Ranger. 

Power Rangers is being directed by Dean Israelite, and will star Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin, and Becky Gomez as our heroes. The relatively unknown cast will be rounded out by more widely known stars like Bryan Cranston (Zordon), Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa), and Bill Hader (Alpha 5).

I’m still on the fence about this one until I see a teaser, and there’s supposed to be one dropping verrrrry soon. So we shall see.

Power Rangers comes out on March 24.
