Lionsgate has released the trailer online for Prey for the Devil. If you’ve frequented theaters lately then you’ve probably already seen it quite a few times. Never the less here it is again! It comes at a key moment in the year as we have put the Fourth of July behind us and are now looking forward to our next major holiday. The one that seems to be rising higher and higher in popularity, is Halloween. This means that we need to get ready to get spooked. Check out the trailer below!
As you can see Prey for the Devil seems to have all the elements of a classic possession film. I do wonder if this trailer does give away too much information. Part of the joy in films like this is going on a journey to discover the reason for the haunting or possession. With as much as we are told here, I wonder how much more the film has to offer. Also, I wonder about the type of scares it has to offer. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see on Halloween.

Here is the synopsis for Lionsgate’s Prey for the Devil
In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church reopens exorcism schools to train priests in the Rite of Exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior rises: a young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers). Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, a professor (Colin Salmon) recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her.
Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl (who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago), and soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her….and it wants in.
Lionsgate’s Prey for the Devil will haunt theaters on October 28, 2022.
