Shawn Levy, producer teases Stranger Things 4 Chapter 2, as well as predicting ending strong in Stranger Things 5. I only just finished watching Stranger Things 4 Chapter 1 last night and I loved it. I do plan to write a review before the end of this week. Of course, like many fans I can’t wait for July 1st. That’s when Stranger Things 4 Chapter 2 premieres and that will consists of two feature length episodes. In addition the next step, Stranger Things 5, currently in development will be the finale of this show.
In an extended interview with THR, Levy teases and emotional climax to Stranger Things 4 Chapter 2.
“I’ll just tell you that we are hard at work on volume two. There’s so much being written as far as the runtimes of these episodes, and the hefty runtime of episode nine, in particular. Having seen both those finale episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic. Holy shit, they are definitely a treat for the eyes, but they punch you right in the heart. So, that’s what I’ll say about that.”
I feel like are going to lose some of our favorite characters before Stranger Things 4 is ended. However we will wait and see, I guess? As much as the idea of losing fan loved characters suck, it’s also at times essential to having great drama with serious stakes. How many of the main cast will make it to the end of Stranger Things 5, who knows? I’ll bet now, it won’t be them all though.

As for Stranger Things 5, Shawn Levy is keen to make sure the ending is one that satisfies the fan base.
“Ending next season is all about finishing strong. We have phenomenal ideas for season five, and we don’t want to stick around past the point where we see our path with clarity and confidence. So, season five will no doubt be epic,” the filmmaker said. “It will be bittersweet for us to shoot and very bittersweet for audiences to watch. But hopefully, it’s also deeply satisfying because as we all know, as fans of many other shows, there’s few feelings as crummy as an unsatisfying ending — and there’s no chance in hell that we are going to give our passionate, loyal fans anything less than a deeply satisfying close in the final chapter.”
We still have no timeline for when to expect Stranger Things 5. It did take 3 years to make Stranger Things 4 after Stranger Things 3 had aired. Though, if they wait too long, the ‘kids’ are all going to look like they’re in their 20’s. The older kids like, Nancy, Steve, Robyn, and Jonathan already look like they should have 9-5 jobs and families.
Ultimately though, this is just a suspension of disbelief we need to maintain. The reality is, that making shows like this take time. The unfortunate reality is that time isn’t always able to be translated into the story itself. This certainly didn’t affect my enjoyment of Stranger Things 4 Chapter 1, which was by and large, a classic Season.
