With nine seasons complete it, The Walking Dead is ironically alive and well. AMC’s CEO Josh Sapan said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they believe that they were “just beginning to tap it’s full economic potential” and that they were “extending the franchise”. This is evident by the main series being picked up for a tenth season, their spin-off show Fear The Walking Dead, starting it’s fifth season this summer and its source material just releasing it’s issue #191 at the beginning of this month. Other Walking Dead spin-off series and films have also been confirmed to be in the works. Clearly the fans of the franchise cannot get enough.
Keeping up with the demand, we have learned via Norman Reedus’ Instagram that they have started production on season ten of The Walking Dead. You can check out the post below! The series is expected to premiere later this year in October, with Danai Gurira on board for a few episodes as she wraps up her role as Michonne after seven season. We saw that our favorite survivors had to take on not only walkers and The Whisperers but mother nature as well as the ninth season wrapped up.
