Production Of New Switch Variants Reportedly Underway

E3 is currently underway, and as expected, Nintendo’s been mum about any details regarding the long-rumored Switch variant supposedly on the way. This year’s presentation was all about the software, and given the performance they gave in their latest Direct, I don’t think anyone can complain about how it all turned out. But what details are there regarding the mythical Switch Pro or Switch…Casual (not sure what they’ll call that)?

A new report from the Wall Street Journal states that production for two new models has begun. Furthermore, it has been moved from China to Southeast Asia in order to avoid the new tariffs happening as a result of the burgeoning trade war between the U.S. and China.

So what does this mean in terms of when we can expect an announcement? Sadly, it isn’t a sure thing, but they do anticipate the Big N will be announcing the new consoles “soon.” The gaming company is also moving production of its current Switch model outside of China, which could suggest that they expect these new models to coexist with the current one for a period of time, which is good news for current Switch owners.

When do you expect to hear Nintendo announcing these inevitable updated models of the Switch? Let us know your best guesses down below!
