When you think of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Spider-man is the only hero that comes to mind as far as superhero films. But there is another universe that looks to change that. According to Vin Diesel’s Instagram, who is starring in the film Bloodshot based on the character from Valiant Entertainment, today is the official start of production on the film. Check out the video below!
Currently we know that Dave Wilson will be making his feature directorial debut in this film. It is expected to be an R-rated film that is supposed to be highly influenced by high concept sci-fi blockbusters of the late 80’s like Robocop. The film’s script was written by Oscar nominated Eric Heisserer, who also wrote comic books for Valiant for a brief period of time. Production is starting in Cape Town, South Africa.
Bloodshot was originally created by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton. A former soldier who was given powers to save his life by Rising Spirit Technologies. Using state of the art nanotechnology, Bloodshot has enhanced strength and is able to repair himself making him a lethal weapon. Like most of these stories, he has memory loss and does not know who he was before or where he came from.
