Last week was the premiere of Queens on ABC. This is the new musical drama television series that stars Eve, Naturi Naughton, Nadine Velazquez, and Brandy. In this series, we follow four women in their 40s who come back together to try and recapture the magic and regain their swagger that they had in the 90s. When their music group broke up in 1999, each of their lives went down different paths. But their dissatisfaction in their lives and a new opportunity have brought them back together.
The music for Queens was put together by Swizz Beatz, who is the executive music producer for all of the original music. The official label partner for the series is Def Jam Records. With the group having had their claim to fame in the 90s, there is going to be a lot of nostalgic sounds as we enjoy this series.
