Tomorrow will be the debut of AMC+’s new original series, Ragdoll. This six-part series is based on the best-selling novel by Daniel Cole. We have a plethora of series which showcase a cat and mouse game between killers and detectives. I think what Ragdoll does very well is that it focuses a lot more on the human side of the authority figures that are trying to track down this killer.
We see that the detectives while good at their job are still dealing with a lot of emotional trauma from the weight of their job. Now when you insert a situation where a killer has dismembered six different bodies and stitched them all together to make one, you may push some of these characters over the edge. Oh and if that weren’t enough, he has listed his six next targets mocking their ability as protectors of the public.
With the release of Ragdoll this week on AMC+, LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with Thalissa Teixeira. She is one of the stars of the series. She plays DI Emily Baxter. During our conversation, we talk about what sets this series apart from others. She also tells us where she found the inspiration for her role. During the interview, she was not able to remember the name of the person that she had researched for her role. But we have been able to confirm that it was New Orleans’ first Black female homicide detective, Jacklean Davis. It as a great conversation that you can check out down below!
