Everyone’s favorite filmmaker is back at it again! The man who used the production of terrible movies as a means to make money from the German government (it’s actually pretty smart of him) is continuing his rampage against Hollywood. This time, he’s out for the blood of Dwayne Johnson’s next big blockbuster: Rampage.
As expected, Uwe Boll announced his anger in a level-headed tweet that read:
“F**k this new fake Rampage movie. Uwe Boll is going to sue Warner Bros. asshole. Totally serious. Will update soon.”
So why does he plan on doing this? No, it’s not because Boll thinks he has a monopoly on making video game movies (though it wouldn’t surprise me if he did), but it has to do with the name. The film director has released three films under the Rampage name since 2009. They didn’t release in theaters but instead headed directly to DVD and streaming services. The films had absolutely nothing to do with Johnsons’ movie, nor does the content at all remotely resemble it.

Regardless, he thinks that the new Rampage movie will take away from his own original I.P. Here’s what he said in a statement.
“We are living now in a world where Independent Movies are dead and the big players only are making all the money. That they then use developed brands and ideas from established series such as my Rampage films in order to make even more money is unfair but typical. The new RAMPAGE movie will shrink my brand and my revenues I can make in the future with my RAMPAGE movies. It also confuses the audience! I want that WARNERS change the title, especially because the new movie has nothing to do with a RAMPAGE and looks more like Jumanji 2 and is one of those typical feelgood, popcorn bullshit movies that the studios use to brainwash America even more! All these kind of movies including Transformers, Avengers are helping the military industrial complex in America to win and have retards like Trump be American President who would say that the earth is flat as soon they think they can benefit from this!”
Whoa now, Uwe. I know you’re upset, but no need to bring flat earthers into this! I’m so thoroughly entertained by this that I’m almost hoping that no one around him tells him that the film is based on a 1980s arcade game that predates his own I.P. by more than two decades. But that would take a lot of the fun out of it, wouldn’t it?
I’m interested to see just how far this whole thing goes. In reality, he may ultimately just be bluffing, in hopes of counting on idiots like me from covering it and bringing attention to his films. Damn. I think I fell right into this trap…
