There are very few LGBTQ+ rom-com out there.

With Red, White & Royal Blue, this rom-com looks adorably funny, with two unlikely men from opposite sides of the pond falling in love secretly out of the public eye.

The film stars Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth 2, Minx) and Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella, Purple Hearts) as the First Son and the royal prince, respectively.

The film also stars Clifton Collins Jr. (Star Trek, Capote), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam, Bullet to the Head), Rachel Hilson (This Is Us, Love, Victor), with Stephen Fry (Gosford Park, V for Vendetta), and Uma Thurman (Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Pulp Fiction). The rest of the cast includes Ellie Bamber (Les Miserables, Nocturnal Animals), Thomas Flynn (Bridgerton, Masters of the Air), Malcolm Atobrah (Ryle Lane, new Skool Life), Akshay Khanna (Polite Society, Touch), Sharon D Clarke (Rocketman, Tau), Aneesh Sheth (Jessica Jones, The Walking Dead), and Juan Castano (What/If, Tales of the City).

Matthew Lopez wrote and directed the movie. It was based on the novel by Casey McQuiston.

Here is the full synopsis:

Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar-Perez), the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity and a total disdain for each other. Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative relationship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.
