Renfield Trailer Has Servant Can’t Quit Dracula’s Employment

Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage in Renfield

Working for Dracula can be a once-in-a-lifetime job or perhaps one of the worst jobs ever.

Renfield, a servant of Dracula, seeks help to leave the service of the all-powerful vampire. He is tired of fetching food for him—only to seek outside help somehow.

The film stars Nicholas Hoult (Hulu’s The Great, Mad Max: Fury Road), Nicolas Cage (Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas), Awkwafina (Ocean’s Eight, Crazy Rich Asians), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, Sonic the Hedgehog), and Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Focus). Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War, The LEGO Batman Movie) directed the movie from a screenplay written by Ryan Ridley (Ghosted, Rick & Morty), based on the original idea from Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead).

Here is the synopsis of Renfield:

Evil doesn’t span eternity without a little help.

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula. Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.
