Ahead of the world premiere at Fantastic Fest later this month, RLJE Films, the business unit of AMC Networks and Shudder, purchased the distribution rights to the sci-fi and supernatural film Kids Vs. Aliens.
The film is director Jason Eisener’s follow-up to his cult vigilante movie Hobo with a Shotgun. He co-wrote the story by re-teaming up with his Hobo with a Shotgun co-writer John Davies.
In this movie, it stars Dominic Mariche (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Team Zenko Go), Phoebe Rex (The Last Divide), Calem MacDonald (The Umbrella Academy), Asher Grayson Percival (Scaredy Cats), and Ben Tector.
Here is a brief synopsis:
In Kids Vs. Aliens, all Gary wants is to make awesome home movies with his best buds. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang with the cool kids. When their parents head out of town one Halloween weekend, an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the siblings to band together to survive the night.

“Kids Vs. Aliens is everything that I love about film and takes me back to what made me fall in love with movies as a kid,” said Mark Ward, chief acquisitions officer of RLJE Films in a statement. “To be able to partner with our friends at Shudder to bring Jason Eisener’s instant-classic film to audiences today is beyond thrilling for us.”
The movie was produced by Brad Miska (V/H/S), Josh Goldbloom (V/H/S/99), Jason Levangle (Night Blooms), Marc Tetreault (Moonshine), and Rob Cotterill (Possessor).
Eisener broke into the horror genre with his feature film Hobo with a Shotgun in 2011. He contributed to the horror anthology films The ABCs of Death, V/H/S/2, and The 3:07 AM Project.
Kids Vs. Aliens will make its world premiere at Fantastic Fest later this month. RLJE Films plan to release the film in theaters, On Demand, and digitally in early 2023. It will follow with a Shudder streaming release date later in that year.
