Rob Zombie Confirms His Next Film Is The Munsters On Instagram

Yesterday on Instagram, Rob Zombie officially confirmed that he will be directing a movie based on the 1960s sitcom, The Munsters, and will share the same name.

Rob Zombie shared on Instagram:

Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!

And stay tuned I will! I’m interested in his take with The Munsters. Rob Zombie has had a very successful career in singing and songwriting. Also, he’s been successful in producing, directing, and acting. He’s done projects like House of 1000 Corpses, Halloween, and Halloween 2. Even if you don’t know his name, which I’d be surprised if you haven’t, you’ve probably heard his music in a movie or TV show.

What The Classic Munsters Are About

The Munsters are a family dealing with day-to-day misadventures, just like any other sitcom, but the Munsters are a family of monsters. Their family consists of Herman and Lily Munster, Grandpa, and Eddie, Herman and Lily’s son. Also, there’s Marilyn, Lily’s niece, who doesn’t look like the rest of the family. The series only lasted from 1964 to 1966.

What We Know About The Reboot

Murphy’s Multiverse covered the story a few months ago in which Rob Zombie was mentioned to be the director, but his post yesterday confirmed it. Sheri Moon Zombie and Jeff Daniel Phillips have been cast as Lily and Herman. Also, Cassandra (Elvira) Peterson, Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, and Dan Roebuck have joined the cast. I can’t wait to see what role Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark, will get.
