Stephen King’s Christine Movie Reboot Is Underway

Yeah, I’m writing this piece. It’s funny. Christine is back! Of course, she’s back. Didn’t you see the end of Christine? The movie from the Stephen King novel is getting a reboot with Sony Pictures and Bryan Fuller is the writer and director. Also, Steven Hoban, Vincenzo Natali, and Jason Blum are producing for Blumhouse. And if you were wondering, no, I wasn’t named after this killer car.

What Christine Is About

If you’re unfamiliar with the story, Stephen King’s Christine is about nerdy kid Arnie Cunningham who buys a 1958 Plymouth Fury, named Christine. It was love at first sight. He fixes her up and becomes obsessed. Owning Christine also changes his behavior and not for the better. After his bully, Buddy, destroys Christine, the car fixes itself and starts murdering Buddy and his friends. Arnie’s friend, Dennis, and girlfriend, Leigh, are determined to destroy Christine and save their friend from madness.

I haven’t seen this movie in a long time. Stephen King’s Christine came out in 1983 and was directed by John Carpenter. Since it was the 80s, there’s a lot of foul language in it. I wonder if Fuller will water that down a little since there’s one word used that might be forced to stay out. Honestly, I can’t think of a current movie that uses that word. I really liked the first Christine, but I don’t think the reboot can top it. I guess it’s because the 80s is such a special decade and I’ve been burned before by reboots. However, I’m looking forward to seeing the new movie. Now I’m done typing my name. It’s getting weird.
