Robert Downey Jr. will be teaming up with YouTube Red (soon to be renamed YouTube Premium) to host a show that centers on Artificial Intelligence. The series, which will consist of eight hour-long episodes is set to premiere sometime next year and will be narrated by Downey Jr.
Described as a show “which will feature researchers and leading experts in science, philosophy, technology, engineering, medicine, futurism, entertainment and the arts sharing their perspectives on A.I. The series will explore the impact of A.I. and how it is transforming the way we live and work — both now and in the future.”
Robert and his wife Susan’s production company, Team Downey, will partner up with Sonar Entertainment and Network Entertainment to produce the show.
Susan Downey had this to say in a statement:
“Robert and I share a curiosity for A.I., a complicated and often polarizing subject. Our aim is to explore A.I. through a lens of objectivity and accessibility, in a thoroughly bold, splashy, and entertaining way.”
Downey Jr. has a great voice for narrating, and with a premise such as this, the show should work well. Artifical intelligence is an interesting subject, and as technology advances, society must be ever wary of accidentally putting all of us into a Skynet type situation.
