Are reports of Rogue Squadron‘s delays hasty? In the latest Disney slate, Rogue Squadron still dated for December ’23. I certainly won’t go through that full slate, though you can see it for yourself Here. The most interesting story from that slate is what you are reading now. There’s a bunch of unnamed Marvel movies as you’d expect and the only ones with names are those already announced and dated with no date changes. If there was anything exciting on the Marvel side I would be covering it.

Star Wars wise, here is what we got.

Rogue Squadron still dated for December ’23. There is also an untitled Star Wars movie scheduled for 2025, and 2027. Whilst it’s not official in any way, those movies are rumored to be Taika Waititi’s and then Kevin Feige’s Star Wars movies. However as always, this slate can change on a dime, so don’t read too much into this for now. It actually makes perfect sense that Rogue Squadron hasn’t moved because if you recall, the movie was never officially delayed. Sure, it was covered by trades, and we know ourselves the movie has had some issues. However never once was the date shifted, or any announcement made by Disney or Lucasfilm.

If Rogue Squadron had a different date or was absent from this list, that would be our first confirmation of the delay stories. So where does that leave us? Remember LRM has always said that one of the big issues on Rogue Squadron has been whether they can technically pull off what they want to do. Have those issues been resolved? I have no idea, but I do find it hard to believe that Rogue Squadron will shoot and release within a year. For now, there is no signs, or rumors of when Rogue Squadron could film, any casting process, anything at all. That would tell me the shoot isn’t currently scheduled.

I could be wrong and things are being kept very secret. However I’ll be surprised indeed if Rogue Squadron does hit theaters on December ’23. I do think we will see the movie hit before 2025 though.
