Rosario Dawson is Ahsoka in The Mandalorian Season 2! Well, for all the lack of movie news out there right now, this one is a biggie. The inclusion of Ahsoka Tano in a live-action Star Wars property is something her fans have wanted for a long time. The final Season of The Clone Wars is currently airing and it looks like the Ahsoka character is still around by the time of El Mando. Ahsoka’s most recent timeline appearance was in Star Wars: Rebels.
According to Slashfilm, Dawson has been cast as the actor to play Ahsoka in live-action. Dawson will play this character in The Mandalorian Season 2, which is exactly where a lot of fans wanted her to show up. Dawson is also one of the fan favourite choices to play Ahsoka. Fans tweeting at Dawson back in 2017 asking her to appear as Ahsoka got the response, “Ummmm…yes, please?!”

I think fans are going to pretty happy to see Dawson as Ahsoka, a much older version of Ahsoka. The Mandalorian takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi. Ahsoka was last seen in Rebels which was set before A New Hope, though the timeline is only a few years apart. So what role is Ahsoka going to play in The Mandalorian Season 2? We don’t know the answer to that question, and we don’t even know how prominently she will feature. I would guess getting someone of Dawson’s caliber means the character could stick around for a while. Could Ahsoka become a lead character in The Mandalorian going forward? Alternatively, could Ahsoka appear in El Mando, and then pivot off into her own spin-off show even?
All good questions, for (anoth…. I can’t) now we have no answers. I would guess that maybe Ahsoka would take an interest in The Child. Ahsoka may even know more about the species given her dealings with Yoda and Yaddle? More importantly, Ahsoka was a Jedi, and the Force is still strong in her. The Mandalorian Season 2 is shaping up to be very interesting indeed.
