Avengers 4 and what it’s going to actually be called, has frankly been far too big a story this year. Sure, we are all eager to find out what the title is going to be, but that’s only because Marvel have withheld it from us for an unreasonable length of time. It made sense to not reveal the title until Avengers: Infinity War had hit theaters, but Infinity War has been and gone and is now out on home release to watch as many times as you’d like, so we are well outside of spoiler territory now.
I don’t think Marvel are playing this particular situation very well (personal opinion), because no matter what the title is now, its going to be a letdown (unless its called Avengers: Electric Boogaloo). So I for one would like to them to just blooming reveal the title already damnit! But hey, since no one at Marvel gives two hoots what I think, we will have to keep waiting.

Speculation continues to dole out new ideas based on what color pants one of the Russo’s was wearing or the way Chris Evans has his hair arranged. However, we now have a claim from one outlet that the title will be Avengers: Annihilation. MCU Cosmic‘s Jeremy Conrad claims that a very reliable source has told him the title will be Annihilation and that the image released by the Russo’s asking us to ‘look hard’ a few weeks ago actually revealed two A’s to indicate this was an alliterative title. So is this the title? I can’t tell you any more than what I already have, if Conrad’s sources are correct then yes, if they are not, then no?
If this is the title, then it’s even more anti-climactic than I anticipated. I don’t really view this as a good title because I don’t see any meaning in Annihilation, which despite the title of a famous Marvel event comic, it had nothing to do with Thanos and Infinity Stones?
