It’s only been a handful of hours since Danny Boyle was officially announced to have departed from Bond 25, the next entry in the long-running James Bond franchise. Like many others out there, we couldn’t help but wonder… “So what now?” Who can we expect the studio to hire next, when can we expect them to announce it, and will it affect the release date of the movie?
While we still can’t answer any of those questions yet, it looks like the studio is working hard to figure out a replacement. Variety film reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter to share a name that’s being floated as a potential replacement for Boyle. However, as Kroll even states, make sure to take this with a grain of salt:
“Take this with a grain of salt but a name already being floated as a replacement is McQuarrie. This is just a rumor and has no clout behind it but is an obvious choice following FALLOUT. Not sure if he would be up for it since he has said he wants to do original material”

Will McQuarrie take the job? Hell, will the studio even offer it to him? It’s impossible to say since we have zero idea how long it’s been since he’s actually been gone, and therefore don’t know how long they’ve been looking, so who knows if this is just the first name they’re throwing around or the latest in a list of 10.
What do you think of McQuarrie potentially taking the helm? Let us know down below!
