While the live-action adaptations of their animated classics haven’t exactly been critical juggernauts for Disney they have been an undoubted financial success. The Lion King may not have clicked with critics, but with over $1.6 billion in sales, it’s gone on to to be the highest-grossing animated film of all-time (even though it has a live-action aesthetic).
With that in mind, it’s no surprise they’re barreling forth with this adaptation-heavy strategy, and one such movie on the horizon is Marc Webb’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a film notable for being Disney’s first feature-length animated tale.
