It feels like it’s been decades since it was first announced that Dwayne Johnson would be taking on the role of the villain turned antihero Black Adam in the DCEU. In the time since then, the universe itself has transformed immensely, shifting from a heavily-connected one to one that will likely have each franchise act relatively independently from one another. Black Adam also got pushed back in favor of a standalone Shazam! movie…so things have changed.
But still, no matter how long it’s taking, it sounds like this bad boy is going to happen sooner or later. Now, the folks over at That Hashtag Show are claiming to have casting details regarding the latest draft of the script from writer Adam Szytkiel. The big reveal here is that Black Adam will be featuring a few different supers likely going toe to toe with the antihero. Let’s start with perhaps the best-known one.

Hawkman is said to be in the script in the form of Carter Hall. For the role, they are looking for someone ages 30 to 39. The other two characters reportedly being in the mix are a couple other Justice Society of America heroes Atom Smasher and Stargirl. The two are often shown to be in a relationship in the comics, but there’s no word on if that will be the case here. They are looking to cast both of them ages 20 to 29.
While these casting details indicate some momentum, don’t expect anything for a while. Production is tentatively set for March of next year…so there’s plenty of time for the script to change, along with any other details in the near future.
