Rumor: Is Alpha Flight Coming To The MCU? | LRM’s Barside Buzz

Today we have an older rumor that has come to the surface again. Specifically a rumor that Alpha Flight is coming to the MCU. Alpha Flight are a Canadian team of Marvel superheroes, and were owned by Fox until the recent acquisition of that studio by Disney. Like all other former Fox Marvel characters, Alpha Flight are now able to be used within the MCU. Could Wolverine’s old colleagues be set to hit the MCU?

Scooper Charles Murphy has commented on this story below from Caleb Williams. Check that out first.

Murphy has now given some added weight to this rumor by suggesting this matches up with rumblings he has also heard around the Canadian super team. Here is what Murphy said about his information.

“This rumor is incredibly interesting to me because, as Charles Villanueva and I have talked about on the podcast several times, it lines up with some information I heard quite some time ago, so while I am in no way confirming this, it’s definitely something I will keep an eye on because one of my most trusted sources told me that Alpha Flight was a property that Marvel Studios One-Above-All, Kevin Feige, believed to have great potential. This information was from a time before Disney Plus was a factor, so I have no idea what the plans might be, but if we speculate a bit, you can see there are a lot of options.”

Alpha Flight coming to the MCU

This wouldn’t be the first time I have heard of an Alpha Flight rumor. As Murphy says, before Disney+ was a thing we published some stories suggesting Feige was keen on Alpha Flight. However, nothing came of that rumor at the time, probably because Marvel are making plans many years ahead of where we are now. As with all rumors, take this info with a pinch of salt. Even Murphy won’t confirm the story, he is just saying it matches with some things he also heard.

As for some speculation, where to start? One wonders if Alpha Flight will be connected to Wolverine’s arrival in the MCU? However, Marvel Studios are known for taking characters in the comics and doing different things with them on film. Not to mention that some of the Alpha Flight characters have connection with some of our more familiar MCU stars as well. An interesting fan theories is that Alpha Flight could first show up with former ally Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel 2? So even if this rumor comes true, it doesn’t necessarily indicate an imminent Wolverine or X-Men appearance. Saying that, one would think that plans are firmly in place for introducing the X-Men and mutants into the MCU.

What do you think of this rumor that Alpha Flight is coming to the MCU? Leave your thoughts below as always.
