You can bank on the fact that Doctor Doom will appear in the MCU eventually, we just don’t know where and when? However, a rumor has surfaced that says a known Doctor Doom associate is set to join the MCU. Could this be a set-up, a first step towards introducing Victor Von Doom, maybe even his fictional country of Latveria? That’s where the speculation comes in I’m afraid.
This rumor comes from MCU Cosmic, which publishes quite a few scoops on the regular. However, as always, take with a pinch of salt until the rumor becomes fact, or not. The outlet says that Lucia Von Bardas is coming to the MCU. Now, there is no mention yet of where this character may show up, or even when. So the rumor is really just the character name for now.
As for Lucia Von Bardas, in the comics she was Latverian and a known associate of Doom. In fact, Von Bardas at one point took on the mantle of Doom herself after Victor was deposed as Latverian ruler. So if Von Bardas (pictured below) is going to be showing up at some point in the MCU, it seems a good bet it’ll help set up Doctor Doom farther down the line? That’s the scuttlebutt amongst the MCU fan base to this story anyway. Some fans think Latveria will be introduced slowly through other characters similar to Wakanda within the MCU.

As said up top, Doctor Doom is one of Marvel’s greatest villains, dare I say the best? Doom had never been portrayed well on screen by Fox, so this is a big opportunity for Marvel to cash in on Doom. After all, Doom was one of the inspirations for Darth Vader, and things turned out ok for that character.
