Thor: Ragnarok was a big surprise for many audiences. After Thor: The Dark World, many saw the character of Thor on the decline, with his overly-serious attitude, but the Taika Waititi-directed romp made the character super fun again, and introduced a lot of memorable characters along the way. One such character was the rock man named Korg who helped out Thor along his journey.
Korg quickly became a fan-favorite character, and with his character living to see another day in Avengers: Endgame, we expected to see more of him in the future (in spite of his staying on New Asgard). Now, there’s another rumor indicating a role for the character in the next Thor film.
HN Entertainment is reporting that Korg will not only be present in Thor: Love and Thunder, but that he will have a “much larger supporting role” in the fourth film, though they gave no other details — which makes sense given that the film is still a couple of years away.
That being said, because the film is still well over two years away, it’s hard to know whether or not to trust this report, as Waititi is likely only in the planning phase of the story, if that. Plus, with him making a whole other movie before Thor: Love and Thunder, who knows whether or not these details can be trusted.
But the idea of giving Korg more to do makes a lot of sense, even if there currently is no solid evidence to support it, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
