Rumor: Marvel Casting Relative Of Ned For Spider-Man 3

Ned Leeds played by Jacob Batalon has been an integral supporting character in the two MCU Spider-Man movies. Now a new report says that Marvel is casting a relative of Ned for Spider-Man 3. If true, this would mark the first time Ned’s family has been seen in the MCU.

The Direct has learned that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are casting a Filipina actress within the age range of 50-80 years old for a small supporting role in the Spider-Man 3. The outlet’s sources indicate that this role is for a relative of Ned Leeds.

The age range listed here is pretty large, 50-80 is quite the swing. Ned’s parents would be five years older than they were pre-Infinity War. However, I still think the 50-80 range is too high for a biological parent. This role could be for a grandparent, or a variety of other family roles I guess? There really is no indication of what this role is but we know it’s a small part. Considering filming is already underway on Spider-Man 3, I’ll guess this is for maybe one scene in the movie.

To be honest, with all the crazy rumors surrounding Spider-Man 3, this casting rumor seems….normal? There has been some crazy rumors around previous Spider-Man actors such as Maguire and Garfield as well as Molina and Dafoe. None of those rumors are confirmed but when you consider Foxx’s return as Electro, who knows? The idea of getting to know more about Ned and his family is one I kinda dig more than seeing a whole load of characters I never cared for anyway.

I’m sure there will be far more exciting casting rumors for Spider-Man 3 to come. However let us know what you think of getting to potentially meet a relative of Ned for Spider-Man 3? Thought below as always.
