Yesterday, we reported on the news that Nickelodeon would be teaming up with Netflix to bring more animated projects to the streaming service in what looks to be an attempt to compete with Disney. But, if we’re to believe a brand-new rumor, the partnership between the two companies may extend beyond the world of animation and into the world of live-action shows.

We Got This Covered is reporting that a live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is on the way to Netflix. Of course, as with all rumors (especially from this source), be sure to take it with a grain of salt, but it’s not the craziest rumor out there.

This live-action show will reportedly be aimed at teens, and will have a tone that’s more faithful to the comics. I honestly am not quite sure how faithful they plan on being, as the comic was comically grimdark, and it’d be pretty interesting if they actually stuck with that almost Daredevil-esque style.

The streamer hopes to release the show in 2021, so if it gains momentum, we’ll undoubtedly be hearing more in the near future.
