The world of change is on its way in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War really showed that Marvel Studios was willing to go big in their Avengers entries and create scenarios that have widespread fallout throughout their shared universe (though we still don’t know how widespread they’ll all be in future films, or if those events would even be referenced). With this year’s Avengers: Endgame, we will be seeing the dawn of a new Phase, as Avengers: Endgame is the final film in their Phase 3 slate.

But what can we expect going forward? There have been a ridiculous number of rumors flying around non-stop for months, and for now, I’ll settle on one in particular, which comes courtesy of MCU Cosmic. It’s worth mentioning, as we do with all of these rumors, that you need to take this with a grain of salt. It’s not that they lack credibility, but as with all things, it’s all constantly in flux, so something that’s true today may very well be wrong tomorrow.

The outlet states that the future Avengers movie could be called either Young Avengers or New Avengers. There seem to be some conflicting rumors that these could be two separate films or the same. Regardless of what the next one is called, there seems to be an understanding that the next film will combine older Avengers like Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther with a batch of younger ones.

Additionally, there is rumored to be a Dark Avengers film in the works, but it seems more likely that if that film is actually in development that the previously mentioned New/Young Avengers movie would come first.

Given the current state of Marvel Studios, it’s clear they are down to change things up with this mondo franchise, and I think a Young Avengers would be a good way to give this fifth Avengers film an all-new feel, style, and structure.
