Later this year, Netflix original live-action series The Witcher is expected to drop. This Henry Cavill-starring live-action series is the anticipated adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski novel series, and while that will likely go a long way to satisfy readers and gaming fans, it turns out there actually may be a little something else in the works.
This rumor comes courtesy of the NSFW blog Recapped. I still can’t fathom why this site is NSFW, but it is, despite not having any actual pictures on it, but here we are. Normally, I wouldn’t go for a source like this, but they’ve proven themselves correct in the future, so…

Anyway, according to them, there is no current status on a second season for The Witcher, but some time ago, they heard they were casting for an animated series that would take place in the same world and would follow some side characters. This animated show would reportedly take place between Season 1 and Season 2, but it’s not clear if this is still happening.
So…what do you think? I’d personally be interested to know when specifically he heard about casting, because animation isn’t something that just materializes. If they were casting earlier this year, then we couldn’t expect anything for like two more years — maybe one if we’re lucky. It seems suspicious.
That being said, you never know, especially with shows like Castlevania gaining traction with fans. It could be worth it to them.
