RUMOR: Warner Bros. Still Looking To Replace Ben Affleck With Jack O’Connell

Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman is still a project with a ton of mystery surrounding it. On the heels of Batman v Superman and Justice League, it seemed like actor Ben Affleck was pretty much done taking on the cowl as the Caped Crusader, and all signs seemed to be pointing to him leaving. This led to rumors aplenty about Warner Bros. replacing him with various actors, with Jack O’Connell being one of the names thrown around alongside Kit Harington and Oscar Isaac.

A few months back, those rumors were shot down relatively quickly, but it’s possible the initial reports surrounding O’Connell had more credibility than we thought. We Got This Covered is saying that while casting has yet to be confirmed for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, the 28-year-old Godless star is supposedly at the top of the list for the studio.

Furthermore, even though O’Connell is at the top of the list for both the studio and Reeves, if they don’t manage to land him, they are likely to go for someone age 25 to 30. This seems to really double down on the idea that we’ll be going with a younger Batman for the new film.

With all these rumors still floating around the pop culture-sphere, you may be wondering when we’ll be able to put it to rest. The outlet states the studio will be announcing the casting choice this coming May or June…so just a handful of months left until it’s all put to rest…if this rumor is true.
