Rumor: WB Looking To Cast Actor To Play Younger Version Of Neo In The Matrix 4

The big Matrix news recently that Lana Wachowski would be making a Matrix 4 and that Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves would be returning to portray Neo and Trinity was a bit of a shock. Prior to the announcement we had heard rumblings of a Matrix reboot that may even star Michael B. Jordan, but no hint of a true sequel, until there was.

We don’t know much about this upcoming movie, we don’t even know why it’s only Lana Wachowski making this solo without the involvement for her sister Lilly Wachowski? In fact, we know Reeves and Moss are back, we know Fishburne likely isn’t and that Morpheus may be played by a younger actor, and now we know that WB are looking for an actor to portray a younger version of Neo also.

Variety‘s Justin Kroll, who broke the Matrix 4 story himself, was recently on Bartsool‘s My Mom’s Basement podcast. Kroll says that WB are currently looking for an actor who could portray a younger version of Neo himself. Now, considering both Neo and Trinity are dead, then the news Morpheus may be portrayed by a younger actor, and this kind of makes sense. Are we talking time travel, or some earlier version of the Matrix, or maybe Neo and Trinity somehow having to stop history repeating itself?

Either way, this could be a large part, or a small part which happens very quickly. Saying that, with de-ageing technology being how good it is, and the fact Keanu Reeves is a proven Immortal who doesn’t ever seem to get old, (joke, for the slow witted) would they really need to cast someone as a younger Neo if it was only for a small part? I mean Will Smith has just made a film where he fights a younger version of himself. Reeves would only need a shave and a small touch up and he could look 18 again.

Personally I am ok with this as long as all the de-ageing technology is being utilised solely to work out how to make Harrison Ford believable in a 5th Indiana Jones movie, but hey, that’s just me.

What are you hoping for from The Matrix 4, and do you have any theories for how this likely crazy movie is going to go down? Take the red pill and enter the rabbit-hole below.
