Today we are sharing some Barside Buzz that claims to reveal the rumored plot synopsis for Thunderbolts*. The movie is currently filming and frankly we already know a fair bit about it. Do far we know the cast, and that this group are brought together by Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). We also know that Lewis Pullman will be playing Sentry, a role that Marvel didn’t really wish to reveal, but it leaked anyway when Stephen Yeun was playing the part initially.

So what could be added to that? Well, here is what Daniel RPK says on his Patreon service.

‘Yelena, US Agent, Ghost and Taskmaster are sent by Val to kill someone in a vault. They realize they’ve been set up and were meant to die on this mission. So they team up against their boss to take her down.’

We know there are similarities to DC team The Suicide Squad here, but this kinda feels like that’s exactly what is happening. I think we can be pretty sure who it is in that vault. It’s likely Pullman’s Sentry, or evil version The Void. However, why would Val be sending these guys off to their death at the hands of Sentry? What we are definitely missing here is any kind of motivations or context. Of course, we can’t expect that till we see the film.

Additionally, there’s no mention of Red Guardian or Bucky Barnes in this synopsis and we know both are in the film. So how do those guys factor into this? We have hard that Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is the lead of the film and set photo’s have shown that Bucky may not be a part of the team whatsoever.

However, there are still many mysteries about Thunderbolts* we don’t know. For example, what is up with the asterisk? That is still to be determined and so far I’ve not seen one leaker claim to know the answer. Some fans seem to think the title will end up being Dark Avengers by the time of release. However, if that is the case, why not simply announce that now, instead of the whole asterisk thing?
