This is interesting and unexpected. While Murder on the Orient Express was the very definition of the word underwhelming, I still tend to have pretty high regard for all the talent involved, both in front of and behind the camera. Thinking of all those involved, it’s hard for me not to think of one word: prestige.
So you can imagine my surprise when I found out that comedian and actor Russell Brand was in talks to join the follow-up film Death on the Nile. According to THR, Brand could very well end up starring alongside Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer in Kenneth Branagh second detective Hercule Poirot film.

Michael Green is writing the script for this follow-up film, and the movie is set to begin production at the end of the next month, with a December 20, 2020 release date already in the books from Fox.
What do you think of Brand joining Death on the Nile? Does it seem as out-of-left-field to you as it does to me? Nothing against his talent, but it is a bit difficult to separate who he is from the roles he plays, so imagining him within the time period seems as though it would be a stretch for me.
