Avengers: Infinity War may be the biggest film hitting this year, but the Russo Brothers are also involved in some other very interesting projects. One such project is the series Deadly Class, which is based on the graphic novel of the same name from Rick Remender and Wes Craig.
This project has been in the works for some time, and was picked up for a pilot from Syfy months back — the Russos even shared a photo of the main cast around five months back. Well, it sounds like all this hard work has paid off. According to THR, the show has been picked up as a full series, though we still don’t know the episode count or premiere date for the show.
Here’s the official synopsis for the source material:
“It’s 1987. Marcus Lopez hates school. His grades suck. The jocks are hassling his friends. He can’t focus in class. But the jocks are the children of Joseph Stalin’s top assassin, the teachers are members of an ancient league of assassins, the class he’s failing is “Dismemberment 101,” and his crush has a doubledigit body count. Welcome to the most brutal high school on earth, where the world’s top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art. Killing is a craft. At Kings Dominion School for the Deadly Arts, the dagger in your back isn’t always metaphorical.”
Remender is adapting the series alongside Miles Orion Feldsott, and both are executive producing alongside the Russo Brothers, and Mike Larocca. Benedict Wong will star in the show
