There is something alluring in watching period pieces set in the 1950s. Many Americans imagine the 1950s to be perfect with families, friends, culture, and clothing. The 1950s have dark moments of crime and violence like any other decade.

In Alice Fades Away, the story follows a woman, who flees her ex-husband’s family. She hides in a farmhouse, which has multiple WWII survivors with PTSD now residing. However, her dangerous past catches up and places everyone in the home in danger.

The film stars Ashley Shelton (Something, Anything), William Sadler (Bill and Ted Face the Music), Paxton Singleton (The Haunting of Hill House), and Blanche Baker (Sixteen Candles).

Here’s the official synopsis:

On the run, Alice Sullivan takes refuge on her uncle’s farm, now home to WWII survivors suffering from PTSD. She is taken in by its residents until Holden, a murderous figure from her past, arrives. His mission, return Alice’s son, Logan to his grandfather, the wealthy patriarch of the dangerous Sullivan family. Alice’s disturbing nature and increasing paranoia force the residents of the farm to make a decision; fight to protect her or give her over to Holden despite his increasingly violent and unpredictable ways.
