Ryan Gosling admits he has had talks with Marvel about playing Ghost Rider in the MCU, but the situation is complicated.

Ryan Gosling admits he has had talks with Marvel about playing Ghost Rider in the MCU, but the situation is complicated. Gosling recently took an interview with Josh Horowitz to promote his new movie Project Hail Mary. However, Horowitz quizzed the actor on those rumors he was in talks with Marvel for the role of Ghost Rider in the MCU and whether they were true?

“I don’t know what to say. We keep hope alive. Some discussions have been had. It’s a complicated situation.”

The interviewer then pointed out that Gosling’s wife Eva Mendez had already appeared in a Ghost Rider movie.

“I’m just happy one of us got to do it.”

Admitting he’s no comic book fan, Gosling cited the reason for being interested in Ghost Rider as,

“just a feeling.”

It remains to be seen whether the complicated situation can be worked out, whatever it is. There were rumors at one point Gosling could make his debut in Doomsday, which clearly is not happening. Could he debut in Secret Wars? Or, there is the rumored Midnight Sons movie, which now looks set to beat the Blade solo movie out the gate, if that ever happens now.

Gosling as Ghost Rider would be a great grab for Marvel. However, he would also be very expensive and Marvel needs to have the right movies ready they feel can make sue of his star power.

Gosling’s next big tentpole movie, after Project Hail Mary out this week, is Star Wars: Starfighter, which arrive sin theatres May 28, 2027.

What do you think of his comments as Ryan Gosling confirms talks for Ghost Rider with Marvel. What is the complicated situation preventing this from happening? Thoughts below.
