Let’s be real guys, whether it’s Grand Theft Auto or Dungeons and Dragons, we all don’t treat NPC characters very well. Why? Simply because usually they aren’t very important to our overall goals. So messing with them the way we would never mess with an actual person, is sometimes a lot of fun. So what would happen if one of these characters figured out that they are an NPC in a game?
This is the story of 20th Century Studios’ upcoming feature film Free Guy, starring Ryan Reynolds. He plays a bank teller that discovers that he is a background character in an open-world video game. He decides to switch it up and become the hero of his own story that he comes up with himself. In a world that has no limits, he is determined to save the world his own way. Joining Reynolds in the film are Jodie Corner, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Watititi.

This film looks like a lot of fun. Especially if you are a gamer. Being that it’s being produced by Reynolds, I hope that it has a lot of jabs at different things in the video game world that we can all relate to. What did you think of the new trailer? Let us know in the comment section below!
20th Century Studios’ Free Guy is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on December 11th, 2020.
