The Witcher Season 2 gets an intriguing synopsis.

Netflix’s The Witcher had quite the unexpected story structure. Rather than have a standard narrative, we followed three characters over the course of three different timeframes. Yennefer was over the course of decades, Geralt over many years, and Ciri over several days. It all sort of collided together in a climax that saw all three threads intersect during the Battle of Sodden. And, at the very end, we saw Geralt finally meet his destiny in the form of Ciri. But what happens next?

After spending an entire season with these two very important characters apart, we’ll finally get to see how they interact. And, from what we know, we can expect a more standard story structure this time around. But what will the central conflict be? Well, Netflix has finally revealed the synopsis for The Witcher Season 2, which you can check out below:

“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden,” the synopsis reads, “Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

Unfortunately, the showrunner of The Witcher can’t give us all three leads together at once. As indicated by the synopsis, Yennefer will be off on her own as Geralt takes on protective duty of Ciri. And, as we saw in the first season, the young princess has some pretty unpredictable abilities that need to be reined in.

But what sort of danger will that pose to herself and to Geralt? Well, I’m sure if you’ve read the book, you have a better idea than I. But as a series-only consumer, I’m intrigued to see just how The Witcher Season 2 synopsis plays out.
