Ryan Reynolds Wanted To See Donald Glover’s Take On Deadpool

Today marks two weeks until Deadpool 2 is released. With all the hype surrounding the film, it is easy to forget that the FX animated series starring anti-hero has been canceled. The show was to be brought to us by Donald Glover and his brother, Stephen. While we all would have loved to see what the Glovers would have done with the character, Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds shares are dismay. In speaking with The New York Times, Reynolds expressed his thoughts:

“I would’ve loved to have seen what he did with that.”

The feeling is mutual Mr. Reynolds. Donald Glover is immensely talented, already having proven his acting skills in shows like Community, as well as his writing and directing talents winning an Emmy for Best Director in a Comedy Series for the show he created, Atlanta.

At this point, it is unlikely that Glover and his brother would return to give the show another shot without some major changes happening. That doesn’t mean someone else won’t step in to bring an animated Deadpool to the small screen. Even if that happens we will always be left wondering what could have been with the Glover brothers.
