Some news as Scarlett Johansson is in talks for a role in The Batman: Part II and some Barside Buzz around what that role may be. First off the news that ScarJo is in talks for a role opposite star Robert Pattinson for Matt Reeves, The Batman: Part II. The first out the gate with this story were actually Nexus Point News. However, it was quickly confirmed by the likes of THR and Variety. Johansson is obviously most well know for portraying Black Widow in the MCU, so who could she be playing in the DC Universe of Matt Reeves?
All the trades are saying is that the role is unknown for now. Though perhaps some hints she may be playing a villain. However, the Barside Buzz on this has also taken flight since the story broke.
We’ve had one scooper say love interest and one say it’s a villain. Whereas, Jeff Sneider has claimed… it’s going to be both.
“She could very well be playing Bruce’s new love interest, but I hear the role will ultimately be revealed as villainous in nature.”
“Johansson has played the hero a lot, she’s ready to break bad.”

Now Sneider has also come out and agree with some other scoopers that there is one character we can rule out. ScarJo is not playing Poison Ivy in the film. Which, for a grounded take like Reeves Universe is, makes a lot of sense.
Usually when the trades report an actor is in serious talks, it means the deal is almost done, or already done. Meaning there is a good chance ScarJo will have a big role in this sequel to The Batman.
It’s also worth noting the trades have also said that Zoe Kravitz will NOT return for Part II. Again, given we’ve heard this is set just after The Batman, it makes sense Catwoman isn’t around currently. Maybe Kravitz could return for a trilogy capper in a few years time? Though that may depend on the success of Part II.
