The teaser trailer and poster for Scream VI have been released by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group. The film sees the return of Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter. As well as the actress that is being hailed as the current “Scream Queen” in Jenna Ortega who has been featured in projects such as A24’s X as well as the hit Netflix series, Wednesday.
You can check out the trailer for Scream VI below as well as the poster. Both of them show that our characters including Ghostface are not in Woodsboro anymore but in the big city of New York.
Scream VI looks like it’s going to have the same kind of cat-and-mouse game that we love from the franchise. What interests me the most is if we are going to have Ghostface once again be an obvious character in the film. Or if this may try and take a different direction to throw audiences off. Is this an all-new Ghostface or is it someone from their past?
The Scream franchise has been fairly textbook as far as slasher films go, I look forward to also seeing if they try and add anything new to the genre. Regardless, it will probably be a good time in theaters. Especially now that we can give the killer a new setting.
Here is the synopsis for Scream VI provided by Paramount Pictures which also includes the list of cast members:

In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) and Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
