Secret Invasion Casting – Shooter’s Back On Top Baby!

Shooter’s back on top baby! Yes the latest Secret Invasion casting report from Deadline reveals that Christopher McDonald has joined the show. McDonald, for me anyway, was most famous for playing Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmour. Personally, I love this casting. McDonald is brilliant and whilst the role he is playing is under wraps, I’m happy to see McDonald cast.

Secret Invasion will definitely feature both Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn as Fury and Talos respectively. We also have to assume that the plot will revolve around some other Skrulls who have been secretly infiltrating Earth within the MCU. After all, that was the plot of the Secret Invasion comic that serves as the inspiration for this show. Deadline said this.

Details about the role are being kept under wraps, but I hear it is a newly created character that could cross over to the larger MCU, including appearing in movies and other Disney+ limited series. A rep for Marvel declined comment. The cast of Secret Invasion is expected to also include Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Killian Scott.

Off the top of my head I think McDonald could be a cool Norman Osborn. McDonald’s character however is supposedly brand new as per the report. McDonald, as you probably could guess is usually more associated with comedy roles. However, that is hardly uncommon when it comes to MCU casting. I’ve seen McDonald in other movies and shows. However, for me he will always be most remembered for playing Shooter in Happy Gilmour. That role was tailor made for McDonald, and that character is a cult favorite for sure.

Better watch out Cap, Shooter eats pieces of s**t like you for breakfast! In fact this all makes me want to see a sequel called Happy Gilmour: The Return of Shooter.
