Reno 911 is one of a handful of shows I have recently been revisiting and falling in love with all over again. Some unintentional, but nice timing as the series is set to return and a teaser for the show’s return can be found at the top of the article.
The revival will bring back the original cast for the seventh season and will air on streaming service, Quibi, which means quick bites as the service will air shows in segments no more than 10 minutes long.
Jim Dangle and his deputies do their best to keep law and order present in the town of Reno, Nevada, but sometimes their actions make viewers wonder if they’re in the right line of work. Granted they run across some, for lack of a better word, unusual situations and handle them the best way they know-how.
Rewatching the show, it had slipped my mind how offensive the show could be, especially by today’s standards. Which for me, isn’t an issue as I am more than ok with offensive and even vulgar content. My rule is if that’s the angle the joke is going to take, then just make sure it’s funny. This is all within the context of comedy of course.
I can’t wait to see how the Reno 911 crew move through this modern world as it’s been about a decade since we’ve last seen their adventures. With the chemistry the actors showed during the first six seasons I have no doubts that reprising their roles won’t be much of a problem.
